Olfactory acoustic scenario
In this multisensory scenario, an eight-channel sound composition combining a universal language combines with a repetitive mantra.
Four channels play the sounds of washing machines running through their noisy cycles,
and human wailing selected from the soundtracks of pornographic videos from different cultures.
One hundred white towels hang in the gallery space, each one freshly laundered with the
homely smell of ‘clean’ – a concept that we humans have invented for ourselves.
The towels are embroidered with initials taken from an obsolete telephone directory,
inviting a fiction to be made.
