Diversion End
2005
Sound sculpture

‘Diversion End’ is a symphony communicated through twenty-one megaphones installed on a nine-metre tall scaffold tower.
The audio is composed from the calls of a hundred animals taken from sound archives, which have been selected from the list of the 4,859 animals inhabiting London Zoo in 2005.

A cacophony of animal voices ascends a tower of speakers in a signpost to the evolutionary processes caused by the interaction between humans and the world we occupy.
