Soufflé
2008
Sound and film scenario

‘Soufflé’ combines sound and visual elements to construct a dialogue exploring the physical boundaries of sensorial realities.
Maciá’s eight-channel soundscape is composed from recordings made in abattoirs
in India, Ireland, Japan and Kenya.
The composition weaves together the mechanical 'voices' of slaughterhouse machinery against a visual twelve-channel film-backdrop of layered,
flowing sauces balancing between the edible and the carnal.
