Acousmatic composition

‘Fables of the Wind’ is a celebration of migration. This sound sculpture is an acousmatic composition presented in a room lined with a floor-to-ceiling red curtain. It comprises sound recordings of the wind collected by the artist from both sides of the Atlantic Ocean. This term acousmatic is attributed to Pythagoras, who is said to have taught his students from behind a curtain so his presence did not distract them from his teachings. ‘Fables of the Wind’ situates us in the allegorical space of the sea and the wind - an endless cycle of departure and return.
